APC appealed to all its members and supporters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed to all its members and supporters across Nigeria to remain calm and peaceful, and to resist all acts of provocation as they await the results of the presidential elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the post-election moment, when all Nigerians are eagerly awaiting the results of the elections, is a tense moment for the country, hence nothing must be done to disturb the peace or cause disunity.
”We must begin the very critical process of healing all the wounds inflicted by the rancorous and divisive electioneering campaign, and rebuilding trust among our unprecedentedly-divided people,” it said.
APC reminded all its members and supporters that the agents of disunity are on the prowl, ready to trigger trouble and destabilize the country, hence they must not play into the hands of such people.
”To all our members, supporters and indeed all Nigerians, we urge you to please remain calm and show equanimity if you must celebrate,” the party said.

Jega is Partial, tribalistic and selective says Elder Orubebe of the PDP

Elder Orubebe of the PDP says Jega is partial, tribalistic, selective, has been compromised and they've lost confidence in him.

Speaking at the International Conference Centre as the announcement of results was about to start on Tuesday, Orubebe said the commission’s chairman, Attahiru Jega, was biased and he would not allow the results to be announced. He siad he was already in possession of a full printed result when PDP’s grievances were yet to be addressed.

Prof Jega responded to their allegation  the PDP man raised at the collation center that He has already directed him to the Secretary of the Electoral body, that if they are relevant she will forward it to him,He further that the issue can't be treated in the collation center..

Jega rejected the allegation by the APC that election was not held in Rivers

Regarding to the issue of Rivers..Prof Attahiru Jega noted that "He circulated this memo to the Committee. We reviewed it and set up a 3 men Committee to Rivers & returned this morning with their observations that there were a no
points as to why the Committee should cancel/reschedule elections:

1)No elections 2)No result sheets 3)Subst. of officials"

Jega further that they cannot establish any cancellation or substitution of results and we sent a list of collation officers to the state"

Officials fail to show up to work for several reasons and it is up to the REC to substitute from the pool of officials they have"

We do not believe the allegations are substantial enough to require the cancellation/rescheduling of the elections in Rivers"-

The decision of the Committee is that we will take the results of the elections in Rivers state,We have taken measures to make sure that reoccurrences do not occur in the future..Jega stated
